Hello!
So in a search for a project for the summer I came across a 1980 XS400 Special on CL and picked it up that day for a cool $100. Its actually in fairly good condition besides the tires and quite a bit of dust. I believe it sat in a storage unit for quite some time. I am working on my plans for it at the moment and have been lurking around the forums trying to soak up as much information as I can.
My question starts here. I like the idea of a sport bike front end and from what i gather it seems like the RS250 is an easy swap. I have had trouble finding one of these and most that i have found are in Europe and shipping to Texas is a little pricey.
I have found a front end at a very reasonable price with triple tree, tubes and even comes with the axle. Its bearing diameters are top and bottom 30x48x12. Would the recommended adapter bearings on http://www.allballsracing.com/index.php/forkconversion
work for it or is there more to it?
I know that the length of the forks will also come into play.
Sorry for the noob questions.
