Need help finding the contact breaker

Hello everyone. My bike stopped running recently because the platinum is pretty much done for and need a replacement.

I'm pretty much new to this sort of stuff, so I'm having a bit of a headache with finding the contact breaker. Could someone link a youtube video or give a really good explanation on where to find it? I feel silly asking, but I'd appreciate the help

If it's an older bike, pre-1980, the points are under a cover on the left side just under the petcock valve. If it's an electronic ignition bike, under that same cover is the electronic pickup assembly.
