Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum. My daughter recently bought a 1979 XS400 and got an additional 1979 XS400 bike that the guy was converting to a scrambler in the deal.
The Project bike has an electric start on it. My daughter asked me to add that electric start to her bike because she has a hard time kicking it from a cold start. I’ve taken the starter, starter gear, and chain out of the project bike and I’m getting ready to install it on her bike.
I’m looking at the electrical and I don’t have a manual with an electric start schematic in it. I have a decent mechanical aptitude as I was a millwright for many years as a profession, and later became a certified electrician for industrial electrical. So I know my way around the bike I just don’t have a schematic and I’m wondering if there’s anything out there that can help me with the process of adding this starter for my daughter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
