Kick only ... Smallest battery

So im running a kick only on my 81 xs400... this is the battery im trying but only getting spark on Grey wire... but here is the battery... i have seen that people are using smaller

did you say before you run a headlamp which is always on?

try kicking the bike over with everything switched off and the battery fully charged.

I was trying to find the amps needed to run the ignition but have no data.

Need more info.. Did everything work fine with a regular sized battery?
