Newbie here, thank you for allowing me to join you group.

I have an 1980 XS250 and am trying to identify the carbs. I've looked through the internet and watched a few YouTube vids and found the BS38 from the XS650 are very similar to the carbs fitted to my XS250, where both the main and pilot jets are housed in the float bowl, could the BS38 Carbs be fitted to my bike? Can anyone help with the ID of my carbs please, thanks in advance.

BS38 would have a hard time delivering the correct air/fuel ration because the pistons cannot draw enough air at low rpm to suck up the correct amount of fuel. You COULD make it work at top end but it would not be a nice ride elsewhere.

Stock carbs should be mikuni bs32's I believe.
Thank you tstidham. All the photos of strip downs I've seen for the BS32 show the jets on the main body of the carbs, mine have the jets within the bowl of the carbs. Are there different models of the BS32?
