Been messing with my bike again recently, still have no spark or signs of power from stator. Was just looking over everything again since its been a while, and noticed that neither of my coils has a resistance reading or any continuity at all on the secondarys. It would be pretty crazy for both to fail in the same way at the same time right? Am i doing something wrong, im measuring it just like in the manual and i even removed the boot that clicks onto the spark plug and tried directly touching the black wire coming from the coil. Primarys seem fine (red/white to orange.

I would trust what your meter tells you. If both coils measure bad, then that's what it is. If you don't trust the meter, try borrowing one from someone to perform the same test or test yours on a resistor that you have around.

Tried my other meter and was getting same results. I ended up pulling the spark plug boot off and clipping off like a half inch of wire and now i have a reading so i guess my boots and last bit of wire were corroded. I am getting like 8.7k resistance without the boot but its from both the red/white and the orange wire. Dumb question but should i get a reading from both of them or does that mean somethings wrong internally.

Also do i really need to get resistor caps for the spark plugs? I dont think i have any electronic ignition stuff on my bike, and someone already has the 5k resistor plugs in it.

Im like 90% sure its points, makes it cheaper for me to buy non resistor caps so happy to hear.

Got spark back, ended up needing to clean points and those new caps. Just in time for it to sit all winter again haha.

I grabbed em off mikesxs, only 5 bucks a pop and they seem pretty good quality for not being actual NGK. The 25mm glass fuses are on there aswell that i need but sadly the 20amp one is out of stock right now.
