83 xs400 Maxim Build

I finally got my bike out for a drive around the parking lot at work yesterday.
Idles fine and works not bad either. Will get some updated pics this weekend coming.

Well heres a pic a buddy of mine took yesterday. Ill get some better ones later on.
She needs to be cleaned up yet and some touch up with a rattle can of black.
Losing the front brakes after inspection so that'll look cleaner as well

Red? That's crazy idea:D Black always looks good. What about some gunmetal paint?

it really does look awesome i can't wait to have some daylight to work on mine. thanks for posting the pics of your bike in pieces on my thread, really looks a lot less daunting than i was imagining now!

Looks awesome. Pretty much exactly what Im building lol. The weather is turning for the better here and I just got my hands on a shop to work in so hopefully I can get back at it.

yea, shes gone through the weight program for sure. I wonder how much weight i actually lost of it from chopping her down. Too bad i didnt weight 230, the thing would prolly work pretty good

but there is no front brake anymore? that seems a bit dangerous, no? I've always learned to brake 80% on the front, 20% on the back, since the front is where all the pressure is.
