82 XS400 Regulator Rectifier

I have posted this bike as I restored it for my son, pictured on it. Trouble is that he has the bike at his school several hours away. He had a charging problem and someone who knows these older bikes but not how to find and order parts told him he needed the stator generator flywheel rotor that I found and will be heading his way. He also needs a Regulator Rectifier and I don't know what one would be in this bike. The bike is all stock and I remember when going through the bike reading about different harnesses and what wire goes to what. I would like to get him the correct one so he can just plug it in if possible. I see them listed with a single plug and two plugs and both state for this bike. Any help would be appreciated. I will add that my son is quite capable of wiring things if its the best way.
