Are the stock seats on the XS250 and XS360 Specials interchangeable with the stock seat on 1980 XS400 Special?

Thanks buddy. Yamaha do a new one at $400+. Nothing on ebay anywhere. However, I've solved the problem. Got a mate to put it on his lathe and he managed to drill out the piston.

Thanks for that info. Finding the exact caliper is proving more difficult than I ever imagined.....so making another model fit, may well be the only option. I'll do some more research.....your suggestions will be a great start

Thanks. Yes, sorry. I didn't word that very clearly. . Cleaned it up and positioned it correctly. And I have spark! . Why is it always the last thing you check that is the problem ! ‍♂️

Fitted the new TCi box. No change.... have now removed the head and got access to the electronics around rotor. Looks to me like no contact on the 9oclock contact....and only just contact on the 12 o'clock. Guessing this could be the issue. I've now checked and or replaced all the other...

1980 SG. Stock wiring. Recently purchased. Am I right in assuming that the headlight will only illuminate after engine start? And it is permanently illuminated after that? (unlike XS650 where there is a separate ON/OFF switch)

Just bought a basket case 1980 XS400 SG. Electronic ignition. PO was attempting to make it into a cafe racer. . I've completely rewired it using the original harness and EVERYTHING works.....except.....when turning it over on the starter motor, I get just ONE spark on the right plug only...
